Several club members headed to the River Stour for an evening dive. This site is a fantastic choice for beginners, yet it still offers a decent challenge. On the way upstream, divers work against the current, while the return journey becomes more of a relaxed drift dive.
Entry can be tricky—thick underwater grass wraps around you as soon as you get in, which can be daunting for newer divers. The river’s height also makes a stride entry impossible, and climbing in isn’t exactly straightforward either.
Despite these challenges, the River Stour remains a rewarding and enjoyable dive for divers of all experience levels.
