Our training will give you an internationally recognised qualification. We pride ourselves on the high level of training we provide by experienced instructors.
Our training begins with theory lessons in a friendly classroom environment followed by practical scuba session usually the same night a in a swimming pool, once proficient in both you then move onto confined open water training usually in a quarry and/or in the sea subject to the weather and season.

Discovery Diver might be the right choice for you, particularly if you expect to go scuba diving primarily with a dive guide. This course is an intermediate step for earning an Ocean Diver qualification if that’s your ultimate goal.

This is the basic entry qualification. The training begins with lectures in diving theory and practical sessions in the pool. Once these have been mastered we move into diving in open water, normally in a local lake such as Leybourne lakes . After you have completed your training and built up your experience of diving in different conditions and depths you will be able to dive to a maximum depth of 20 metres.

Advanced Ocean Diver is not a mandatory course, but it can be a thoroughly enjoyable next step on your diving adventure. Advanced Ocean Diver means you can safely progress your maximum diving depth, post-Ocean Diver, and can also be used to build your skills and experience as you work your way to Sports Diver.

As a Sports Diver you will be trained in additional techniques which will include diver rescue and practical safety techniques. The emphasis during your Sport Diver training is on building upon your open water diving skills and expanding your experience. When qualified as a Sports Diver the depths to which you can dive can gradually be extended to a maximum depth of 40 metres. Sports Divers can dive with other Sports Divers.

First Class Diver (FCD) is BSAC’s top diving grade reflecting a high level of theoretical knowledge, organisational and personal diving and dive management skills. First Class Divers have gone on to lead ground breaking missions worthy of national recognition. (We currently do not offer this level of training)

These courses can be run in parallel to the above training, some being run at Branch level or through Regional Coaches depending upon the course. Canterbury Divers regularly runs these courses throughout the year.
