No, During your Try Dive experience, you will be provided with all the necessary kit. This includes Mask, Fins, BCD, Cylinder, and Regs.
No, for a Try Dive, there is very little swimming. If you also let your instructor know they will be able to assist you better.
We have access to the swimming pool on Thursday Nights, As such we are not able to offer Try dives on any other date.
Excluding the purchase of a personal kit (please don’t buy anything until you are sure diving is for you and then seek advice from your instructor / other club members), roughly £480ish. This includes annual BSAC and Canterbury Diver membership but excludes entry costs to open water dive sites and/or dive boats and also personal kit rental.
A lot depends on the availability of instructors (we are all volunteers) and the students (other commitments that conflict with planned training)
No, We only offer BSAC training.
Yes. The qualifications from BSAC are recognized and respected around the world.
No, you need to be able to swim 200m without stopping and you will be tested on this as part of the Ocean Diver course. The more comfortable you are in the water, the easier you might find certain skills (e.g. mask removal and refitting) but we have never had to give up on anybody yet
Yes, We do offer Dry Suit training but this is only for members of the club. All the training we offer requires you to join the diving club
Yes, we can train you through Sports Diver and Dive Leader
We recommend a Scuba Refresher session this is very similar to a TRY dive but we go over the basic diving skills. We would also recommend joining the club as this will allow you to attend our pool session and be invited on dive trips depending on your current skill level.
